Hendrik's gift to Albertine

When master carpenter Hendrik Serneels and his wife Albertine Volckaerts moved to their new home in the Koolstraat in Mechelen in 1959, he decided to design and manufacture all the furniture himself, as a gift to his wife.

The result is a unique set of sideboards, bar, office and dressing cabinets, wardrobes, a chest of drawers and even a bed, all in solid oak and with a minimalist design.

Now, 65 years later, these lovingly and skilfully crafted pieces of furniture are looking for a new home.

They are generally in very good to good condition and all have a custom-made glass protective cover.
